Manchester City manager, Manuel Pellegrini was keen to reassure City fans that Sergio Aguero will be fit to face French club, Paris Saint-Germain in the Tuesday Champions League match.

Manchester City, who has the advantage of having scored two away goals in Paris, will be hoping that they will make it to the semi-finals for the first time in their history. But for this, they will need to overcome a dangerous Paris Saint-Germain side that did have occasion to kill the game in the first leg.

Sergio Aguero was substituted during the weekend game against West Brom because of injury, and City fans have feared the worst for the Argentinian forward. However, Manuel Pellegrini was adamant that his player will be fit for Tuesday and that he will be playing in the Champions League match.

Pellegrini fielded a much-changed side in the match against West Brom and obviously had an eye on the Tuesday clash. Indeed, this is the only chance of silverware for the Manchester side, and Pellegrini will be desperate to end his contract with the club with a trophy. He is due to be replaced by Pep Guardiola during the summer.

Manchester City won the game 2-1 after two goals from Aguero and Nasri. In fact, it was West Brom who opened the scoring in the 6th minute with a goal from Stephane Sessegnon. But Manchester City will be awarded a penalty 19 minutes later which Aguero will convert to give City the equalizer.

It was Nasri who will score the winning goal by taking advantage of a poor clearance from the West Brom’sdefence. The goal helps Manchester City cement their fourth place and keep their chances of qualifying for next year’s Champions League intact.

Pellegrini will be hoping to repeat the same form against Paris Saint-Germain on Tuesday to help them get into the next round.
